The “Caisson Song”, written by Field Artillery 1Lt. Edmund
Gruber (later BG), Lt. William Bryden, and Lt. Robert
Danford (later MG), while stationed at Fort Stotsenburg (later
becomes Clark AFB) in the Philippines quickly becomes a
popular March for Field Artillery units. It was later adapted
and arranged by John Philip Sousa creating a song which is
now synonymous with the U.S. Army.
