Home to two of America’s largest overseas military bases at Subic Bay and Clark Field. The bases
were instrumental in providing military support for conflicts in Korea and Vietnam. The legacy
lives on today with joint military exercises, port visits for U.S. Navy ships and shared mutual defense
interests.
Subic and Clark were the “homes away from home” for hundreds of thousands of U.S. service
members who enjoyed fond memories of their time stationed in the Philippines, the warm
friendships they established, the beautiful beaches, jeepney rides and the ubiquitous and iconic cold
San Miguel beer.
